HCPE Coating Construction Technology Guide
HCPE coating, as a high-performance anti-corrosion material, has broad application prospects in the industrial field. This article will introduce in detail its characteristics, key points of construction and maintenance methods, providing a reference for engineering practice.
The main component of HCPE coating is high-chlorinated polyethylene resin, with a chlorine content as high as 60% to 70%, which endows the coating with excellent chemical corrosion resistance. Before construction, the surface of the base material must be strictly treated to ensure it meets the Sa2.5 rust removal standard, and the surface roughness should be controlled within the range of 40-70μm. When using high-pressure airless spraying, it is recommended to maintain the nozzle pressure at 15-20 mpa and the gun distance at 30-50cm. This way, a coating with uniform thickness and stable quality can be obtained.
This coating is particularly suitable for harsh corrosive environments such as chemical equipment and offshore platforms. In practical applications, the two-coat HCPE coating (with a dry film thickness of 120μm) can effectively resist the erosion of sulfuric acid solution with pH=2, and its service life can reach more than 5 years. For components with complex shapes, it is recommended to use the "cross method" for coating to ensure that all corners are fully covered and avoid any missed areas.
Daily maintenance is the key to ensuring the long-term effectiveness of the coating. The surface condition of the coating needs to be inspected regularly, with particular attention paid to the powdering situation. When the surface gloss drops by more than 50%, recoating treatment should be considered. When cleaning, strong alkaline cleaning agents should be avoided. It is recommended to use neutral solvents in combination with soft brushes for cleaning. After construction in the high-temperature season, a 48-hour curing period must be maintained to avoid rain erosion affecting the coating quality.
Through standardized construction techniques and scientific maintenance management, HCPE coatings can fully exert their excellent anti-corrosion performance. With the continuous development of water-based technology, this type of environmentally friendly anti-corrosion material is bound to gain a broader application space. In the future, we look forward to seeing more innovative HCPE coating products come out, bringing new breakthroughs to the industrial anti-corrosion field.
