The modification effect of impact ACR on rigid PVC

On the shelves of the building materials market, among those plastic door and window profiles with uniform color and distinct edges, there lies a magical component that changes the fate of materials - ACR impact modifier. This white powder-like polymer additive is reshaping the performance boundaries of plastics in its unique way.

The magic of ACR stems from its exquisite core-shell structure design. The shell composed of hard polymers is like armor, providing rigid support for the material. The inner elastomer acts like a cushioning airbag, which can effectively absorb impact energy. When these "combination of rigidity and flexibility" particles are uniformly dispersed in the PVC matrix, the originally brittle and hard plastic will exhibit astonishing toughness. What is more valuable is that, compared with traditional chlorinated polyethylene modifiers, ACR does not release harmful substances during production and use, which is fully in line with the development concept of green chemistry.

With the diversification of material demands, ACR technology is also continuously evolving. Researchers have developed weather-resistant products by adjusting the monomer ratio, ensuring that plastic products do not yellow during long-term outdoor use. The introduction of composite ACR prepared by nanomaterials has further elevated the modification efficiency to a new level. These innovations have made ACR a true "material performance regulator".

When we look at the plastic products around us that are both lightweight and sturdy, we should not forget that it is modifiers like ACR that are quietly safeguarding the safety line of the materials.
